The Development of the Ethiopian Posts 1894-1909: The Exhibit (Ethiopian Philately)

This 8-frame stamp exhibit presents how the early Ethiopian Posts developed in seven stages. It is the most complete exhibit of this period shown to date at any stamp show worldwide. The exhibit begins with the printing of stamps, in 1894. It ends with Ethiopia joining the UPU in November 1908.An ongoing census over 25 years of covers and cards preserved from the 14 years of 1895-1909, records 1,434items in the Ethiopia Cover List. The exhibit shows 165 covers and cards from 1895-1909, or 10% of the outgoing mail, 31% of the internal mail, and 26% of the incoming mail recorded in the Ethiopia Cover List. That is 12% of the 1,434 itemsrecorded, estimated to be over 90% of all items preserved.The exhibit is organized chronologically along the 7 stages of development of the early Ethiopian Posts.1. I am proud this exhibit was awarded a Large Gold at the Great American Stamp Show in Sacramento, CA in 2022.
