Fiddlers of Sligo Tunebook

This tunebook includes transcriptions of 52 tunes from the recorded repertoire of 22 historic Sligo fiddlers who grew up in Sligo in the era beginning 1884, along with commentary about the Sligo fiddle style. The transcriptions contained in this publication are an attempt to encapsulate in notated form, the main melodic elements inherent in the Sligo fiddle tradition.Compiled by Sligo fiddler Oisín Mac Diarmada and Sligo accordionist Daithí Gormley, the book is suitable for musicians as well as those with a general interest in traditional Irish music.
